Carrara – near to Florence in the Apuan Alps, this town is the home to “Carrara Granite” quarries. Here Michelangelo chose marble for his famous works. Michelangelo waiting months for the perfect piece of marble, so he could create the Pieta in St. Peter’s Basilica in Rome.
Pietrasanta – near Carrara you will find other small towns. Pietrasanta (Holy stone) is a great stop to visit the sculpture workshops where artisans working marble. There is also a great shopping in a town center.
Viareggio – This beautiful Italian beach town, you can take the Passeggiata Margherita a promenade with shops, galleries and fantastic Art Nouveau architecture. Enjoying some wine tasting and seafood from the local restaurants. Filling the beach in the summer months are rows and rows of colorful chairs and umbrellas available for rent.
Montecatini – In this town, you can take time for relaxation during your trip. Under the ground of the city of Montecatini runs rivers whose waters have healing properties, have given way to an SPA “Montecatini Terme”. You don’t forget to visit Montecatini Alto, a little village sits on top of a hill overlooking the Tuscan countryside.
